In case you haven't found out because you're living under a rock on Mars, there's a new Superman movieout, directed by James Gunn and starring a new actor as the Man of Steel. DC's launch for the new franchise involves a lot of media promotion, and the Carolina Panthersare attempting to capitalize on the situation and assist in fixing the division between the group and its top rival.
Yesterday, the Panthers' social media team posted a two-minute compilation of past momentsMVP quarterback of the league, Cam Newtonperforming his classic Superman tribute. Observe.
This is merely the most recent of a sequence of minor gestures from the social team.
However, every relationship is a mutual effort, and the other party in this case is not willing to accept it. Cam Newton still feels resentful about how the organization has handled him since his release - even though hesays he doesn't have any particular issuewith team owner David Tepper.
Instead, Newton mentions that he is bothered by the lack of recognition for his achievements within the team's facility—specifically, there are precisely zero images of him located throughout the stadium. Newton acknowledges that he feels wounded by this omission. It's evident that a few positive tweets will not be sufficient to mend this relationship.
As for the movie, it's not the worst Superman film ever made (the unremarkable 2006 release holds that title by a wide margin), but one well-known critic accurately described this one asa drastic over-correctionto the darkness of the Zack Snyder era movies starring Henry Cavill. Superman's dog is worth the price of admission, but much talent goes unused in the chaos, particularly that of Rachel Brosnahan and Wendell Pierce. Hopefully the next installment will be slightly more realistic.
